  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Post something interesting about yourself

My name is on another humans body. Well it was last I knew anyway. Can you imagine how excited I was when this “surprise” was presented to me after a long taxing fight with an ex. The two circles I guess represented us and she left an empty spot for a potential baby which would of been my 1st,,,,,and her 4th 🙃 The pentagram and dots according to her also had “meaning” but it went in and right out as all I was capable of at that moment was plotting an escape plan. Those were crazy times lemme tell ya.

Well…… after reading all this cool stuff about you guys I’ve decided that I’m really very boring.

I’m an only child.
I’m married to the greatest woman I know and have three fantastic children. Oldest has Asperger’s Syndrome which is a form of autism. She will live with us through her adulthood. She can’t drive but holds down a part time job. My wife has severe health issues and does not work (disability) and has attempted suicide more times than I’d like to mention. She doesn’t drive either. My elderly father moved in with us due to failing health recently. He doesn’t drive anymore either. 🤪

I have a really nice collection of knives that I absolutely love but I’m not rich, just piss poor with finances. 😂

I used to lift weights obsessively when in my 20’s to the point now I can’t even think of lifting a weight because I’m so burnt out on it still. Due to that weightlifting I have horrible knees and shoulder. I’ve also had both hands operated on for carpal tunnel.

I work for the local water utility. I was a service worker that got into holes in the ground and fixed meters, etc. but I’ve recently been promoted to crew leader (foreman) and now basically answer questions and help the guys/gals that I used to work with. It’s a LOT of phone calls and stupid questions I’ve found out.

can hold my breath for 4 minutes and dive to 110 feet without a tank to shoot some fish for dinner. Also can sharpen a knife to cut hairs without touching the skin (not always but well more often than not especially if I put my mind and attention to it). That's abut it. How interesting the things I would consider non interesting might be considered interesting as per the first post of the thread. Of course the first post could be sarcastic, I am horrible to say what is the sarcastic what is not...

That's pretty cool

Good news: I finished the first six-month term of grad school and am 44% done with the courses despite being only 33% through my planned three-term degree.

Bad news: My employer's HR now says they have no record of me being in the tuition reimbursement program.

Shit.

^^^Mistakes were made 🤬
UPDATE:

Apparently when I got into the program, I had to send a form confirming my acceptance by December 1, 2023. I did this. But what I did not realize was that they also said if I wasn't admitted to the program for which I'd be seeking reimbursement at the time, I would need to resubmit said form when admitted.

So I took the "That's a bold move, Cotton" strategy and replied to the HR ticket saying "Well, I am admitted now, and I see there was no deadline for the resubmission after being admitted, so here is my resubmission and my request for reimbursement of tuition."

Aaaaaaand the ticket seems to be going through so far...

I just found out, I influenced a 12 year old…hold on, hear me out!

When I was 16 (‘64) I had a ‘53 Willis (ok, Jeep) Summers, the 1/2 canvas top came off and the windshield was always laid down.
I took my girlfriend’s sister (12) for a ride up through some local rocks and covered lots of logging roads.
She’s 72 now, and told me she has never owned anything but a Jeep because of that ride.😎
