I didn’t have a camera with me at the time but I took this FBM to my girlfriend’s house and chopped and split wood this morning. This is the one I just got from Justabuyer that he put a convex edge on.

So now after about 45 min of chopping an batoning the edge is still absolutely perfect. No rolls, no dents and I don’t think it even lost much sharpness. It still makes hair fly off my arm; crazy steel and awesome edge work by JAB. :thumbup: :D

Nice Tony! You know, I have a plain old FBM sitting pristine in the safe, but I beat my LE. Does that seem wrong? :D

No it doesn't:thumbup:

I usually beat this one... and the SHSH too:D But I wanted to use that CGFBM's edge and check it out.

That SHSHII is a beauty! I had several of them and sold them all. Now I just patiently wait until a certain hog brother decides to sell one back to me. :D
 
Now Tony if you lay some 600 grit paper down on a mouse pad and strop ten strokes on each side. Then 1200 or 1500 grit and do 10 more strops and finally 5 to 10 strops on 2000 grit or better you will not be able to tell it has been used. seriously 5 Min's will restore the convexed INFI.

Yes the love and accolades inspire me.....but its the INFI man.... the INFI.:D

I usually use green compound on a strop. What do you think that is grit wise?

Its very fine stuff to be sure. I have a double sided strop and have had very good luck getting dents and dings out using it first on the leather side before proceding on to the side loaded with green compound. It is not a mistress but, using the strop like that, I've only had to sharpen my SFNO once- and that after beating her unmercifully for more than a year. :eek:

It was all the bondo, gravel and the odd truck cab bushing that finally had me get out the edgepro.
