I bought a nissan off ebay , seriously cheap , headed up , camped for free the whole way up and back , fantastic trip , worth every minute :)

the actual Daintree pics sucked ... too dark to turn out , I forgot about the difference between typical QLD sunshine and the comparative dark of the forest and got a ton of under exposed pictures

still , its an awesome place , from the wildlife the plantlife and the tourists wandering around in all kindsa nearly nothing ... I LOVE tourist watching :)
 
Ha yep.... nice. My pics are all still 35mm and 15 years old. I envy you taking your kids up north ... I'm a barefoot tropical origin myself, just dont like mangos, weird ay. Think I trod on too many rotten ones as a young fella.
Ahhhh ... the barra ... the butterflies ... the rainforest ... (not forgettin the crocs) ... mangrove jacks ... ferns ...
I gotta do it soon, and a good digital slr wont go astray , and of course the GPS ;)

checking that out right now. Never used that one.
 
I camp at a spot in Upsate NY. Secluded and out of the way. A few small towns in the area and great fly fishing nearby.
