Post up your Goloks and Parangs

Mockup of what I want to make. 15 inches overall, 2 inches wide. Think I may stretch it out to 16. Will be done in 5160.

And yes, those handles do bare a striking resemblance to the BK knives.

i used the crap out of the Condor Golok in Peru. It was a GODSEND chopping trees for the swamp beds.
I'll see if I can dig up more pics as I go thru 'em

Here is one that just got finished up & sent out to a BF member. The bevels were forged by D. Ellis and the rest of thr was done by me. This thing just loves to chop and I was sad to see it go.....

:) don't you like the perfect tool Joe.

Shameless self promotion, I know. But was really impressed with the performance of the critter. The cool part about a golok is that it can chop a little better than a machete, without sacrificing too much of the overall slicey-ness

the bonbe is just right on with goloks

Bruce,

You have one lucky customer... that is a great looking golok:thumbup::thumbup:

Here are two that I had, regretfully they had to find new homes when my wife went back to school.

The Barkie Golok is an amazing cutter. Worked over some hard maple, you could hear the edge making pinging sounds

Took down two trees recently with help from friends, then used a variety of blades to chop up the branches.

Cool pics in this thread! If I lived down south, I'd have a parang on my belt no doubt. Probably a condor version, hehe. If I could find one... ;)
