Nice. How do you like it?

Not new per say but long sought
When our late son was 10 he saved change to buy me a knife for Christmas when we lost him in car accident the knife became my prize possesion and doesn't go outside . It does see cutting duties inside. have searched high and low for the same knife that had "that right feel" to use as a daily carry. Today wandering a local flea market I found the knife, the feel was right, good shape, handle color was different but it felt right! it is a bucklite . when I ask how much??? $6

Sorry for your loss.

It is a great find, to get a user. That's the model Buck used for their Boy Scout knives in the past, right?

Thank you for your kind words. I am not sure on the boy scout thing. Next year we will cross the point were Eric has been gone longer than he lived . To give you an idea how long I've looked for the "right knife"

That is a good while. I hope every year it's easier for you and your family. I volunteered in an ED for a while and have witnessed the pain of parents losing children; can't imagine much worse.

I can. When we lost Eric in the accident it was instant no pain . I know people who are watching their children die over a years time and can't help them . I can't imagine hell being any worse

I'm very sorry for your loss. I had the same Buck Lite knife years ago, but with a solid OD green handle. I remember it being a good slicer even though the tip was broken. I wish I could remember what happened to it.

I got a boker gnome, a new left side shifter/brake for my old school mountian bike, awaiting a mini svord peasent knife in the mail .
I also picked up a 45# thrust trolling motor like new off of c/l we have several county parks that have lakes big enough to use rowboats they rent the boats you can use your own trolling motor on them . I have a free deep cycle battery Boat rental is $15

Thanks, it really is not a bad price at all and I only had to wait three months. I didn't even know he was back to taking orders so I was super stoked to get this one. I remember first seeing the Tracker and Scout in a '95 issues of Tactical Knives and have wanted one ever since!

Italian Mountain Rucksack for wandering around in the woods and mountains:

My latest (and last for a while) get, a used but not too abused 1980's Blue Hole Sunburst made in Sunbright, Tennessee. That completes my stable... at least this year. I still have to rerig it before it is ready for swiftwater, but I already have the floatation bags and kneeling pads.

I had been looking for one of these for quite some time and made several abortive attempts to buy one. This week it all came together for me... reasonable price, accomodating seller (even willing to deliver on his way to a river just East of me), and enough funds stashed back for the purpose. It will likely be delivered to me this weekend, weather allowing.

Not too abused looks more than right! So worth the download on this end. What body of water in this pic ... ? To be housed in Jake's Party House I trust ... aka the red shed. s

I believe, but an not sure, that this seller's picture was taken on the Wolf River around Memphis Tennessee. A lot of it is rather urban, but some is old bottomland. The canoe hasn't been delivered yet, but should be here this weekend. From the pictures I've seen, it just needs some minor work, a deep cleaning with Mean Green and a few coats of 303 protectant to bring the color back. And of course new bag lacing and the nylon floatation bags I already have. And I may replace the woven seats later with Essex cane and ash seats. It is burgandy rather than red, but I think it will do nicely.

And a friend in Arkansas recently sent me the old "Doo-dah man" stickers my original Blue Holes sported in the early '70's.

ETA: As for the shed, I have built a movable four canoe rack which still needs a roof of some sort to keep the sun off. I am mulling my options there between sturdy and light weight. And before I cut the two main upright posts, decide if I want to go ahead and make it a six canoe rack or limit the height and capacity to the current four.

"Doo-dah man" stickers ... ??

The logo of the outdoor store in Little ROck where I first rented the Blue Holes. The image of the guy "trucking" was known as the "doo-dah man" back in the day. Adapted from the comic book works of Robert Crumb and immortalized in song by the Grateful Dead in their song "Trucking"...
