Companion? I have the orange one, and I really like it. I foresee getting a couple more.

I recently picked up a Vic Electrician, Vic Compact, and another Vic Farmer. I am going to have a FrankenSAK built soon; it'll have the tools I want in a hiking/camping/backpacking SAK.

Hmmm...wonder what that 24oz mat will get replaced with?;)

Ahem...

I present to you, the Inertia X-Lite Recon.
That's right. Recon. Hoo-freaking-Ah. I started to pin a pair of my old Airborne wings on it, but I guess that would be a bad idea:(

Just look at that thing, though. It's so tactical, it makes me want to touch myself...

..and it's comfortable. I actually slept on it in the floor yesterday, instead of going to bed.

..and it's little:

..and it's light(comes with a little pump and patch kit that aren't in there):

...and it packs really small:

..and it really does only take two breaths to fill up!

I always used 3/4 length pads until getting my Big Agnes Air Cores last year, and am used to putting my feet on my pack, so that will be no problem.
Not sure about cold weather with it, "loft pocket" testimonials notwithstanding. I'll probably just keep using my Insulated Air Core.
Weight's not a factor at this point; packed size is. What I really want is to use my Manta 25 daypack for 1-2 nights backpacking and an overnight bike ride or two while the weather is warm, and maybe do an overnight float with all my stuff in a drybag in the forward hatch of my sit-on-top. That's the excuse I just came up with for it, anyway. I actually ordered it while sleep-deprived, and didn't remember buying it, or know what it was when it showed up on my porch:rolleyes:

Chuckles galore :)

It IS small and light. 25L for overnight - are you using a bag or quilt, and if so, are you compressing it? My sleeping bag takes up much of the room in my Talon 44L, especially since I just stuff it in the bottom and don't compress it.

I wish they made a 3/4 Insulated Air Core with a larger width. The only thing I really suffer from on my BA is the dreaded dropped arms. I remedy that with my day clothes, but it still sort of annoys me....

I crammed all this stuff in the Manta 25 right after I got it.

Plenty of room. You don't need much of a bag here in the summer. I can get my complete Notch, the X-Lite pad, toiletries and trowel, cook kit with big fuel canister, Sawyer filter, and sleeping bag in the main packbag with room to spare for a change of socks, extra Buff, etc.
I'll be using the pictured blue^ Marmot Trestle Trails unless it warms up again(pulled it over me halfway through the night earlier this week). It's just a wicking liner under a thin shell, but good to about 55F. It fits in a little mesh ditty bag.
Before this week, the low temps had been about what I keep it at inside my house. I technically don't need anything when it's like that, and would just use a S2S Thermolite Reactor sleeping bag liner. Squashed down, it's about the same length, and maybe twice the width of the X-Lite pad.

I love going to the mailbox and seeing a box in there :D Just opened this up, LOVE it! Thanks Mano for showing yours off, it really pushed me over the edge to grab one

Thanks man. I am really surprised at how much lighter and slimmer it is than the Farmer. Fits great in the pocket

Am seriously considering picking up an Osprey Kestrel 28...must...resist..... :D

ETA: Resistance proved futile....
