The snakes have started to come out in my area and while we don't have anything exotic, we make up for it in quantity... You can't take steps around my place with out tripping over one of the little guys. Here are a couple that I've seen over the last couple of weeks. The last pic shows the head of a very bright green snake about 14" long that I' haven't seen before, maybe someone can ID it. What have you guys seen?

Water Moccasin that I happened upon. When I first saw him only about 6 inchs of his body was sticking out of the pine needles. He came out to say hello to me...I'd hate to step on that one!

Dam these things are pretty bad ass...
They will come for you to attack and bite you when most snakes would lye still and try to avoid conflict.

Yes they are. I know a few people that have been chased by them. Many times the hang out in pairs. That one in my pic is a little over 4 feet long.

Sorry for the crappy pic(s), but if you look in the top corner of the pic you can see the second one coiled in the water (also about 4 feet long) and the first one under the pine needles. I couldnt get the stupid camera to focus.

How did you catch it? Did you pin the head down first or just grab for it?

A picture of my son's pet Black Mamba; I understand these make excellent pets:

The little green headed snake in the last shot of the first post is a Rough Green Snake. He is a tee dwelling snake living off of small reptiles and insects. He is very long but only slightly bigger around than a stout pencil. He also has a very pretty yellow on it's belly. Very docile and pretty snake.
I hope this helps.

Thanks! I've never seen one of these before, they look kind of tropical..

This is from last summer, but one of my favorites. Rattler swimming out a good ways from dry land.
