Not sure if this is the best area for this, but I just saw a resurrected post about a member who made chopsticks and a spatula out of some G11. I have yet to really put any of mine to use but since it has been some time since the frenzy of getting it happened I was curious if people have found anymore creative uses for the stuff. The creative bug is starting to hit me hard and I'm feeling the urge to finally get my shop up and going and get back into the maker game (that is after I straighten out the garage ). Been sooooo busy with the house we bought last summer but HOPEFULLY I'll be getting out of weekend warrior repair/improvement mode and I can actually get back into playing with steel. But I also have a stockpile of G11 that I can probably mess around with too.

I don't think so. Apparently G10 and G11 are different things. G11, what I've seen so far, is pretty much like Jade G10. I'm not really aware of the difference between them though. And I don't think spatula would be a good idea, since the materials might melt. Chopsticks are the only ones I really remember though. Or if you can get a tritium vial, drill the g11, and it's see through, then you'd have a little keychain fob?

It should be OK. G11 is rated for continuous operating temperature at 300F and maximum temperature of 374F.

You can use G10 just fine for the same thing...temp differences of 75 degrees isn't much as they both will start to char long time before burning. G11 color is usually a poopy yellow/brown/greenr. At least G10 you have a choice of color. G9 was used a lot for circuit boards but they now use the G11 because of the dielectric and fire resistant properties are higher.

You can make fixtures and jigs, it is strong stuff! I have worked G11 and G10, it worked like the same material to me. (as mentioned above G11 can get hotter, that doesn't really matter for our uses)

I made a tanto once out of jade g10, it was so cool I kept it.

Fire striker handles are nice too.

Pic?

I actually thought about doing something like that but not sure how it would turn out. I know Cold Steel makes those polymer type spikes and daggers and always wondered how something like that would turn out in G11

G10 and G11 are similar, G11 having a higher max operating temp. Some specs show G10 as being slightly stronger. FR4 and FR5 are the fire retardant versions of G10 and G11.
