Post your, “Well, that was dumb…” stories

When I was little I also put an irrigation key through my big toe thinking I was helping my dad aerate the lawn. And I once fell off a tractor and put a pitchfork through my right calf. 🤣🤣👊🏼

Also broke my wrist at recess sliding down a snow hill. And broke my tailbone falling down drunk once. (Not at the same time LOL @clinton1 🤣)

Good times. 👍🏻

Ever thought of wearing a bubble suit when you go outside? 😁

Was taking these pics last year for the Carothers and Guns thread while shooting a couple rifles. I balanced my DEK 1 MC on the comb of my stock when it started sliding off. I could have just let it fall on the concrete bench, but I had to be a hero and shield the blade from the table with my finger. In my head I thought I could get my hand in there in time and dampen the fall and catch it by the handle. Of course I wound up cutting myself with that fresh sharp a$$ blade, but prevented a rolled tip or edge haha 😂.

I was too embarrassed to mention it at the time of posting in that thread.

Pics deleted to try and make enough room for new ones

Like a total dumbass idiot, I just locked myself out of my house and my car. This is real time. Lol
Been there, done that. Glad to have taught myself lock picking back when I was 13-14.

I keep a pair of Bogota Titan lock picks in my wallet, nowadays. They’re compact, are made to nest together, and depending on the lock, I’ve opened some locks with them in under 2 seconds lol.

My lock picks were in the house lol

My wife just came home and let me in.

I'm going to order some of those Bogota picks right now. I also hid a set of spare keys in a secure location outside.

Yeah, learning how to pick locks is fun.

Back then, I even learned how to pick a lot of car door locks with the screwdriver/chisel profile tool on the back of my Victorinox.

Came in particularly handy one time, when a group of us piled into a buddy’s car and headed to a remote beach. Keys wound up locked in the car, with the engine running, back before cellphones.

Even jogging/running, it would’ve probably taken ~45 - 60 minutes to get to the nearest town, which would’ve likely meant finding a rock to smash a window.

Fortunately, I did have the Victorinox in my pocket, and was able to pick the door lock quickly.
