For those with the MOE handguards...any advantages over the standard? I need to build my daughter a light-weight and thought they were a little lighter than the regular M4 handguards.

If you have M4 guards with a single heat shield, they're going to get less hot during rapid fire since they don't have a heat shield on top. Compared to M4 guards with double heatshields, it's a toss up, the M4 guards will keep the heat away from your hands better, but the MOE will dissipate heat quicker. Either way, it's really not an issue for most of us, including me.
Where they really come into their own is attachment points. Easy to install a vertical grip, sling mount, light mount, etc. etc. Impact Weapon Components make some really neat goodies for the MOE guard, as well as Magpul.
Plus it's a more comfortable, secure grip in my opinion. When all is said and done, unless you need a free-float barrel, their a cheaper, more comfortable, lighter, easier to install alternative to front rails.
