post your becker bite pics here

No before due to the need to get out of the house before the little lady found out. I had just bragged about making through an entire weekend at Beckereast Gathering without a scratch. Well my Fiskerized was in my pack and heard me boast (she was replaced with a BK5 on my hip at the gathering and thrown in my pack). She let me know she wasn't happy and peeked out of the sheath to strike. I soon learned that the after hours clinic across from where my prescriptions were filled was open for 30 more minutes. Well a little twist of the truth about being out of my meds and I was off to the clinic. Needless to say, 50 minutes later I had meds in hand along with the 6 new stitches and a story of how backed up the pharmacy was.... That lasted about a day and a half till she figured it out. Oh well. Beckers do bite.

Jeezus........glad I waited to open this thread. We may need to do another safety thread.......

Owwwwwww.......

:D

Soooooo I got my 14 in today, as a birthday gift. I decided to wrap the handle in paracord. Whoa wait a minute I thought, better put it in its sheath so I dont cut myself! Brilliant right? So everything was going well until I tried to cinch down the cord at the end of the handle. What I did was pull on the cord, which pulled the knife out of the sheath at lightning speed, dragging it through my thumb, almost all the way to the bone. 8 shots of Lidocaine and 7 stitches later and here is what Ive got. Another lesson learned. LOL

You must have missed the numerous posts I've made about taping up the blade........

It'll get you everytime. I think it something to do with the handle, because Izulas bite the shit outta folks.

Tape up the edge of you knives before you work on them. Any knife.

:D

You guys are making my fingers feel tingly just looking at these pictures! Some pretty painful looking gashes in here lol.

Was batonning carrots to put in with the roast for supper tonight and I found out the wrong way that the factory tip of a BK16 is NOT dull. :( The 16 will definitely put a hurt on big carrots.

My BK5 bit me last night. Not paying attention while chopping celery....celery.

Haha! I was thinking of searching for a similar thread.

Two days ago, I was cleaning off the blade of BK-16 when I my puppy comes running in the room. I hastily tried to put my knife away before she bounced into my lap and in the process, took a good little chunk out of my middle knuckle. Bled for quite awhile, but it was such a clean cut, it is healing up quick.

I tried to get my wife to take a picture, but the blood freaked her out. I can probably take one of the scab on my knuckle though.

This is a great thread.....for everyone else. I hope y'all don't mind if I don't slash open a finger or two....

.....knocking on wood. Luckily, got a handy supply resting on my neck ;).

I only got bit by the littlest guy. BK 13 cut me across the pad of my thumb while cord-wrapping. No pic of the wound, but here is the little guy.

You know that sounds an awful lot like a challenge to the rest of your knives LOL!
Was it when you were tightening the final knot? Did you pull it right out of the sheath and across your thumb?

Nope, while I was wrapping. Idiot that I am, I did not think to wrap it while it was in the sheath. Glad I learned that lesson on the smallest one, but you are right about tempting fate! LOL

Wow. I cut myself way worse than some of these pictures and never went in for stitches and kept working. I guess get your insurance worth. :)
