post your becker bite pics here

someone tell me i'm not the only one here that hasn't been bit… yet...

Good job, you jinxed it. You will be tonight...

I was bit 2 days ago while putting a lanyard on my 4. I know, I don't listen to those who have tripped up before me... It was just a little knick, nothing bad.

so it took a while. i forgot about this thread until long after the wound healed. slightly stabbed myself polishing out some of the tool marks on my 15. i got a bit sloppy. if the lighting is perfect, you can barely see a faint scar so i won't bother with pics.

Isn't there an old adage that if your knife doesn't make you bleed then it isn't really yours...?

I've been pretty lucky with my BKs given enough time, they'll get a taste of my blood.

Hmmm. I seem to have done myself a mischief with my 10..

..started squirting blood again about 15 milliseconds after I took this shot so...

...the doctor had to pin her left finger on the major artery I severed to try and stop the bleeding..

...finding out how deep the rabbit hole goes (to the bone apparently)

..4 internal stitches, 6 external and a tied off artery. The three top stitches were done by a student doctor. They weren't done well (too tight according to the other doctor) but I forgave her because she was SMOKING HOT!

Forgot to mention, I was over an hours walk into the bush then an hours drive to the nearest hospital. Thankfully I packed myself a reasonably comprehensive first aid kit in amongst my things..

Ouch, that's a bad one! I figured you must have sliced an artery since the ground looked like you'd just butchered something:D
That's a good reminder for all of us to be as careful as possible when out, especially when by ourselves and more so if in a remote area a long way from help.
Hope you heal up quick.:)

Cheers mate. Yeah she healed up real well.. The shots I wish I could've gotten was when I was holding the cut open to see how far the blood would squirt. Turns out, quite far.

Yeah, wasn't paying attention to the angle of my swing when I was cutting a thick dead branch to see how well my 10 chops. Came in too shallow and the blade bounced off the wood and deflected into my hand. I'd only been out there for 40 mins and was planning on calling the missus (had reception oddly enough) then making a shelter and a fire and then staying out there the night. So I ate a Vegemite sammich, packed up my stuff and reluctantly walked out of there..

Wholly F$%^ Beekay. That is a serious gash there. That's probably the most blood I seen come out of a cut. That's awesome even though bleeding profusely still took some pics to show.:D:thumbup: Would have done the same.

I think you win the thread....... So far.:D Subscribed to this one.

This thread is Not Safe For Lunch... :barf:

The worst cut I got from a knife was from a carving blade in Shop Class back in 7th grade. Learned the hard way not to carve against the grain.
Sliced through the side of my left index finger (proximal interphelangeal joint, or so Google says) that severed the nerve there nicely. Took about 10 years to restore feeling.

Nothing compared to you guys, though!

Also BeeKay, do you come from the land of plenty? :p

Yeah man. Couldn't stop taking pictures. The whole time thinking "all my friends on BF are either going love this or rip on me and demand I dispose of my blades. By giving them away."

I'm notoriously clumsy. Couple that with incredibly sharp knives and sooner or later I'm going to lose a limb. But to be sure, I'll take pics!

Proximal interphelangeal something. I seem to recall hearing that in the ED too. Can't really remember as I was too busy perving on the Intern.

The land of plenty? The land of plenty of inhospitable space? Yes. The land of plenty of gumby idiots such as myself? Yes. The land of plenty of stinkin' flies and mozzies? Yes. If you meant the US, no. I'm from Australia. I love my land of plenty..

BeeNutCase - looks almost like mine, it was very deep but mine missed everything like arteries and close, but not any nerves, so I was lucky - just inch long scar. Unfortunately I got no pics, but was funny trying to explain to nurses what a BK2 is , (a 1/4 inch thick laser).

Couple of steri-strips and a bandaid would have worked...why'd you get all stitched up?

Holy cow BeeKay! I can hear your wife now "you idiot". I really want to take my pic down now I feel somewhat girlish. The word boo boo comes to mind after seeing yours.

To clarify, I was referencing a certain popular song from the 80's..

I've got friends in the Sydney/Bondi Beach area.

A Becker bite is probably one of the safest bites you can get in Oz! You win this thread. :D

Tried to do the same thing when they asked and a nurse that was in there taking my blood pressure said "so, like a Bear Grylls knife?"

"Uhhm, yeah love. Like Bear Grylls.." :D

If I hadn't have hit an artery I probably would've done just that to be honest. Stupid thing wouldn't stop bleeding though.

Yeah Warrior she's left a gnarly scar :)

Gas, although you're down Sydney way you would've literally heard her say those exact words from there.

All becker bites are worthy brother. They yearn for the taste of blood. My 10 just happened to be a bit more vampiric than others (doesn't help when it's wielded by a moron either).
