Can't really see it but their is some smoke.
Nice. That’s my goal this year, to finally try making a successful bow drill fire.

Finished the BK-15 sheath today, and decided to take some pics. The Tuko scales on the 17 are not done justice by the pic, where they are smaller than standard scales, the tang sticks out about 1mm all around and looks gorgeous with the tan of the bone micarta scales.

Awesome work Derek!

My first forced patina.

Stripped my bk15 and then forced a nice patina I wanted tiger stripes with mustard and those looked great but then I added vinegar on a paper towel. That didn’t work out as well as it Took on the texture of the paper towels. Kind of looks like carbon fiber but not the look I was going for.

Decided to leave it for now.

Added some Tommy The Who scales had to ream the blade holes a bit for the screws to fit.

New snub nose bk16. I've been playing with a bunch of different santoku blades lately and this just felt like a good idea. Pretty sure dex already did something like this. I rounded the pommel on mine and sharpened it up to make for an ideal bowl/spoon scraper. Beveled the spine and soaked it in a hot vinegar bath. Also cut the scales up to let the pommel stick out more.

I lost my 16 on my recent adventure so I've been working on this 2 to carry. I picked this up from @bladesmith3 awhile back. I dropped the whole spine some more, worked down the scales, put a 15° secondary convexed edge with a 20° convexed primary. I love this combo on thick blades. 90° spine, and then choiled it. It's down to 12.9 oz. I'm still going to strip the blue off ( Sorry blacksmith 3) and put some kind of a patina on it.

Sorry for your loss Tanker, stop by Wednesday with something to lift your spirits
Been Looking for a 1st Production 16 for a few years now with no luck then the Hat Trick falls in my lap
Always better to keep eyes open as you never know where you will find a 1st Production Tweener set of Pristine beckers,
Figured I would find a 16 sooner than later but that never happened and A Fellow Beckerhead comes to the Front as he has to let his blades go as the wifey has no love for the blades and after I met Arkanian I figured it would be a while before the Blades he has will be used and or needed, he lives in the asphalt Jungle, Long Island term for the city and the surrounding boroughs, Must of just been sitting in closet since he bought the set.
Invited him out to the Island when ever he wants or a trek up North to the Adirondacks, A big Thanks to Arkanian for getting these beauties to me and for those that have yet to see a set together

Now that's a good looking family reunion nuto:thumbsup: I will be in my shop
Around 730am Wednesday... Unless I fall off one of the sailing boats at a Rum Ragatta on the Hudson tomorrow :D

A full month long wait 'cause of backlog at Swedish Customs but now its finally arrived
Felt wierd at first... Very light, slightly weight forward, bent and all..
But i can already see this one as a mediumlight woodsperformer.

Blade came slightly dull as usual but angles seem kinda alright.
Someone "initiated" might tell me why the BK4 have a clippoint?
