Future plans:

More polish. Agreed with several who suggested that mirror polish just doesn't seem appropriate for the BK9, but I would like to get it at least silver colored, as opposed to that sickly-looking gray.

Just ran across TAGannon's thread on stippling the Grivory handles on one of his Beckers, and it gave me some ideas. I used to make American Indian silver and turquoise jewelry. Did a lot of casting and hand forging of my own silver ingots, and then stamping the bulk of design features with tools I also made myself. I'm wondering if stamping will work on the Grivory. Not really sure it would take it without cracking/breaking, but TAGannon's method using a soldering iron made me think I could just heat up the ends of my stamps and melt them into the Grivory. If it works, it will give the same functional textured effect as the stippling, only with a decorative, kinda artsy-fartsy pattern. We'll see how it goes.

Will do man. It's been many years since I've done any silver work. I don't even have a clue where all my stamps are, but they're around here somewhere. But I will definitely post pics when I get it done. Thanks for the compliments on the pics.

it dont have any rattle, its a excellent sheath....I have both new and old and the new is a improvent but they are both awesome
 
WoW so many options,my Bk-2 should be here by saturday and already I want another one just to have a different edge/scales.Maby get an used older model and attempt a convex edge on it just to compare.Can't wait.

At the time the only paper I had on hand was 600 grit. I used that for about an hour +/-, and then used a 4" buffing wheel drill motor attachment loaded with Dico white rouge.

Yesterday and today though, I took it a little further with some 340 grit emery paper, followed by a progression of 600/1000/1500 wet/dry, and then hit it with the wheel again. I wasn't trying to go mirror-finish, I really just wanted to get it to a silver color. I'll post some more pics either later tonight or tomorrow afternoon when the sun's out, but I did get that silver color I was looking for, and a nice, satin finish across the belly, with a high-luster polish on the spine, especially in between the handles. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Thanks Blues, appreciated. I was thinking of doing that to my BK2. I want more of an unfinished "rustic" look, as opposed to something mirror like. If I get my compound bow sold, there will be more Beckers forthcoming. :cool:
