Well, after a solid week of scrolling through 136 pages and 2,707 posts in this forum I contracted a severe case of Beckeritis and now have my very own BK-2 and BK-11 sitting in front of me with a BK-9 on the way. Thanks alot guys!

What did you do to get the texture on the scales of the BK-2?
 
It's called stippling. Stab away at the scales with a hot soldering iron with a fine tip. Takes forever, but supposedly makes the scales grippier.

I use a Canon T1i DSLR. That picture of my 14 was taken with a EF50mm f/1.8 II lens. I really like my 50mm, but more often than not end up using the EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS kit lens that came with my camera.

Agreed - I really like the depth of field there.
