Its neat too that you could straighten that out with a little bit of tenderness and it will be as good as new. KA-BAR's 1095cv is some good stuff for sure.

Dang Brother! That NINE has been through a lot.

Do you still use it like that and does the wavy blade function ok?

Yeah I've put it through hell...but it proved capable of handling the abuse I threw at it. Also, its logo is stamped for what it's worth.

I do still use it on occasion. It's about 5 years old and I was out chopping with it about 4 or 5 days ago. It still functions well at both chopping and batoning, but sharpening it isn't as easy for some reason
I don't do large amounts of fine work with it, but it is also still functional for those tasks because the first few inches of blade are not deformed at all.

The way I look at it, I still have a functional knife, so I see no need to try and get a warranty replacement. I see that as a road you go down when your knife becomes two knives....at this point were still in one piece. I'm good to go.

Pfft, they don't matter. EDC your 9 for the week and they will be happy when the 11 is back or be like me and EDC your bk2 to work Whatever makes YOU happy is what matters!

New to the Knife scene, and New to Becker - but I'm already addicted.

Started with the BK16 from just lurking on the forums here a bit. Got home from a camping trip - Ordered the BK11. Saw the thread on the 5 and 15 and possibility of 5 going away . . . ordered 5 and 15.

Now also have a WorkSharp Ken Onion on the way. My wife would kill me if she knew about all the Credit Card debt I've racked up in such a short amount of time.... the BK2, and 14 are both calling my name now. OY.

Proud of the wrap I've done on the BK11 - feels very good in hand.

ONly the 11 and 16 have scene use. 16 lots of batoning / camp chores / wood processing / bacon cutting etc. 11 some kitchen stuff and envelope and box opening / rope cutting.

Now I need to figure out how to become a BeckerHead . . . my knife friends are trying to sell me on other knives but I have this sense of loyalty now that I've seen Ethan respond in the forums and his personal opinions and how much he cares about the community.

My daughter asked to practice fires today so while she was making her kindling I figured I'd play a bit and see which I could get a better curl out of my bk2 or my wife's mora bushcraft black

It's actually just factory kabar micarta. 2-3 years ago the batch of canvas they were making handles from was a little darker brown. This knife was used so heavy the micarta got really dark from dirt and polished by handling it.
