Yes, you need a 9! Everyone on the planet should have a 9, no excuses. The 2 sheath I got off the bay. Very reasonably priced too.
 
Nope, I'm gonna leave the blade as it is. I'll probably do the same with my 9 when it comes in. Micarta and leave the blade coating on. Let it wear away like a fine wine ages!

I kinda like the finish coming off by using it myself.
