Thank you Don W Don W

The BK5 came in today and I’m going to use it tomorrow and cook another Joy of Cooking Recipe. Thank you so much for your generosity brother. the knife got here super fast.

I’m going to strip the blade and “Fisk” the blade and sometime in the future, I want to get some micarta scales. I’m going to add a Ranger band and start cooking!

So, I got to do a little chopping Saturday with the new blades.

Warrior Machax, Skrama, BK9:

First up, the drop 9. Just as I thought it would, it chopped great. Plus, I'm very used to using the 9 for chopping:

Next up, was the Skrama. This is my first time to use it, to be fair, so obviously, not used to it yet. It hit hardest of the three, which I expected with the longer handle. Blade length is about the same as the 9, but has a longer handle. The wood I was cutting was somewhat soft/punky, and even though the skrama hit harder, I feel it didn't get the bite the 9 did. Later, although no photos to prove it, I cut down a smallish sapling, and it was a chopping machine:

Last up, was the Warrior Machax. It bit deep, but got stuck a lot. Although I've used the BK4 many times to chop with, this was my first time with the Warrior model:

What's the verdict on the warrior version, is it Obviously different?

Slightly heavier than the KA-BAR version by a few ounces, according to the database. Not sure how different the blade profile is, but it bites deep, but gets stuck a lot. knifejunkie1928 knifejunkie1928 modded this one, so I'll let him tell the story if he wants to.

I'm ready for some colder weather :) A couple weeks ago I filled my can with dry wood and took out what would become a problem tree. Leaning towards my cabin.

A few days ago I finished cutting up the tree and burned all the limbs.

Got lucky, it rained the night after I finished the burn.
