Post your Becker knives pics here

Piggyback carry…

A funny thing happened today. After spending about 30 minutes using DMT extra coarse diamonds, my Brute became a damn good chopper…

I took off a lot of material and I’m not done yet, but damn! It finally works!
My experience was the same, but I had to go at mine with the WSKO for an hour (at least!) to get the factory edge of ~90º down to where I could finally apply the designation "knife" instead of "sharp hammer"....
...after which I took it to the Northeast Beckerhead gathering, where everybody competed, same Brute, in a timed dowel splitting contest. Each contestant had to try and split 6, 5" tall dowels (lengthwise) that were from 1/2" to 1/8" in progressively smaller diameters. All contestants managed to split the smallest dowel, though not many on the first try.

Working on replacing most of my nylon sheaths with kydex. I really like how the coyote brown looks with the maroon scales…

These are from Randy Bagwell who sells on EBay. I have at least 7 more coming from Azwelke, Julio Diez, and Cleveland kydex.

I’d like to figure out a way to heat punch the BK# on the sheath in a neat and professional looking fashion. Stickers or paint would just wear off. Anyone have any ideas?

I think laser engraving should work.
Thought about that but it might get too hot and melt the kydex. Regardless, it’s not exactly at hand. I wound up ordering some 1/4 inch metal punches. I’m going to experiment with them; see if brute force works or if using a heat gun first might work.

With a laser cutter/engraver you can regulate the power of the laser depending on the material and for cutting or engraving the material.

Stamped marks do look cooler :D
I think azwelke azwelke marks his sheath by melting a stamp in the kydex, maybe he can give you a tip?
