Cut up my bk7 today to make a bk2/Ritter type hybrid wanted a longer pointier lighter companion and shorter than the Ritter. Seems to be perfect for what I wanted. So what mods have the rest of you done.

Nothing that ambitious! Wow! Very nice job! You are a much braver man than I! Kudos

Wow! You really took some steel off that thing! It looks wicked though, a job well done. I got nervous taking off the coating...lol

looks good.... Really the only mod I've done is striping and giving them a mean convex....... well my 7 and 2 anyhow.. pics aren't available at the moment.. I'll have to get some up for ya later..

Welcome to Beckerville.....

Thanks......I had the bk7 laying around not being used so I thought about it for a couple days and decided go for it ,not really that scary to me I've sawed off $800 rifle barrels and recrowned them.

Awesome mod! Looks just like the BK12, er, RSK MK2 rather. (In my mind, it is the 12 dangit.)

First I taped it off marked it out and looked at it for two days. Then put a 1/16" cut off wheel on my 4" makita clamped it down and started cutting but a little outside line so i didn't anneal the future edge. Kept it cool with water and in ten or fifteen minutes I was done with my cool cutting. Then used a belt sander and shaped it then ground the edge. Lastly used a foam sanding block to put a nice convex on the edge and sharpened it. It turned out perfectly taking a shaving edge handle to tip.

That is AWESOME!

I had thought about doing the exact same kind of mod.

What is your blade length now? How about a pic in hand?

Again, very nice.

Wanna do one for me?

Doc Aston

well, if you have to have a BK10/12 now now now, that's the way to go :)
