That is an excellent book. You're going to like it.

Wont know till saturday. Working 24 today. Sucks. I miss my family.

Did get a call from my father telling me my grandma is gonna die within the week.

And 6 frozen pipes busted under the house. Merry christmas to me.

J, prayers for granny, and for you with the house. Thank you for serving your community. My mother was a nurse, and had to work holidays etc. It was not fun.

Got a digital camera, razor strop with razor compound (and a catalog that has Old Hickory knives in it for great prices), a neat wolf medicine bag that my little sister made for me, a book called Weird Hikes,

And a puppy! Cute little yellow/chocolate labrador. The big dogs ran him ragged, he is played out snoozing right now. After taking a crap on the rug, for which the oldest dog promptly scolded him by barking at him, scaring him more, so he peed on the rug.

Always an exciting time!

5 cats (the youngest, a girl, is resting with the puppy, when the puppy barks, she gets mad at him and meows at him, making the puppy go ballistic), three dogs and a horse. We're running a zoo.

Thanks man.

Dude Ive always wanted a pooch for christmas. I bet that Lab is awesome!! Gonna train it to retrieve?

bummer jake... sorry to hear that bro..:( hang in there...

MERRY CHRISTMAS...:)

Hey Jake, sorry to hear about your Grandmother, I'll have her in my prayers.
I know about being away on Christmas. I'm in a truckstop 3000 miles from home but I'm not helping anyone as you are. I'd trade ya in a heartbeat on that one.
I hope the pipes did minimal damage but if ya need anything yell out. We'll hear ya. I know a mod that does great work in kitchens.

I'm sorry bro. I feel for you. I had my boys last night so we did Xmas together, but I'm alone today. Laundry and youtube videos were the fun today! If you need anything let me know.

Aint nothing I cant handle. I will fix it tommarow when I get off. Im a pretty good plumber. Ive been battling these pipes for a week now.

Work sucks been busy, but it is my duty, so I have no regrets.

As for my grandmother, no one knows better then me about quality of life, and when its your time, so in a way im happy she is gonna stop suffering, but I am really close to her, and will miss her. The downward spiral of dementia and health problems has been hard to watch, I really feel for my pops, hes pretty upset, but would never show it ya know?

Ahh. Tis life my boys. Tis life.

Merry Christmas.:)

On a lighter note, I have a few sharp things under the tree, so that is cool, and I cant wait to see my boys open their gifts. The joy of a kid on christmas is hard to beat.:)

Didnt mean to piss on this happy thread. Didnt think before I typed. Kinda came out. Sorry.:o

You have a great way of looking at life.
Take care, Merry Christmas.

No use gettin down on things you cant change, one thing Ive learned in life is it is alot easier to go through happy, and lighthearted, then to have a chip on the shoulder. I carried one for a long time, and am alot happier since I shedded it with the help of my wonderfull wife and sons.

This time of year especially, we need to realize the gifts we get every day.

I wanted an 870 Express, didn't happen. Grinning from ear to ear about this puppy. Family, friends, pets, its what its all about. I hope all that are on here that are away from home can get to spend time with family sooner rather than later.

J, the other two are not trained for hunting, but love to bring balls back etc, and love tug of war. He's not the baby anymore, but if the younger dog does not come inside right away, the older dog will drag him across the back yard by the gruff, and inside. Of course, if the older dog wants to run around instead of come in, he will try to keep the younger dog outside. Both of them are in the 85 lb range, and are the epitome of Old Yellow Dog from the movie Funny Farm. I can see the older dog taking the baby under his wing. Their names are Beau, Remington and Doc (just agreed upon, I think), but I foresee them answering to Moe, Larry and Curly ;).

The older two love their hikes though. I took the older one on a three mile hike, and like me, he has some extra baggage. Well, I brought some water for him, and he drank a good amount, but when I said "HOME?", he started pulling on the leash further down the road. He wasn't done yet. This little one seems like an explorer, running after the cats on their trek in the front yard. "HEY, WHERE YA GOING?"

Got a new scope for my slug gun, I was thrilled. It replaces the awful BSA rifle scope that was on there, the extra eye relief will be a blessing and a face-saver:D

Hope everyone had a good day and an extra prayer for those who couldn't be with their families.

Pics of the new pup, named Doc :D, will come along shortly.

I also got a Gamo air rifle but mine is the Big Cat 1200. It's from my wife. My mom got me a Fenix flashlight.

Had a great Christmas this year. Wife really hooked me up. She got me a couple of the small spie capsules and a metal matchbox, a bunch of nalgene containers and a larger lexan waterproof box. Funny thing is that the box had apparently been fairly warm when she picked it up then it sat in our cold basement and sealed itself shut. Had to set it in a sink of really hot water and pry it open. Oh well, works great now. Wife also get me the Less Stroud book, she's read more of it already than I have. LOL

Daughters, 4yr old and 1 yr old, got me Bushcraft by Mors Kochanski. That book looks awesome and will take me years to work through.

Got a new study Bible and a USB Microphone for the bible study podcast I'm getting started up.

It was an awesome Christmas.

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas and remembered what it's all about.

Charlie
