Post Your Christmas Gifts!

Materially, I didn't get get any knife- or wilderness-related stuff this year.

But, I did get the opportunity to spend the holidays with my parents and my sister at my folks' place in Collingwood, which means time in my workshop and time with family on the snowshoe trails, which is a great gift. Especially since I was able to leave the miserably rainy weather in Toronto for some decent snowfall here on Blue Mountain.

Spent two hours this morning out in my shop, enjoying a nice Cuban cigar while grinding a nessmuk-style knife, then hit the trails for a decent hike. Now I'm enjoying a glass of Innis & Gunn while checking Bladeforums. Life is good.

All the best to you gents.

j williams, hang in there. Your philosophical outlook is inspiring.

Cheers,

- Mike

Man Mike. That sounds incredible. I am happy for ya man. Cuban? Mmmmmm....

That is a "king of the world" type day bro.

This year was great - my brother's family came up from Florida (haven't seen them in a year or so). I received a nice portable hard drive for my laptop, and a couple of pairs of jeans, a 27oz kleen kanteen, and a extremely nice Zebralight h50-q5 headlight (2.6/13/66 lumens off of a single AA battery).

My kids now have enough stuff to make traversing the house perilous in the dark (thank goodness for the headlight :) )

I guess these are from me, to me. I keep hearing that if you buy yourself a gift that you are an A-hole..

Where did you hear that? What a load of crap! I ordered a knife from Bryan Breeden and I ended up buying a new monitor - the price was so good, I couldn't refuse (and this one is definitely on its way out - over 2 hours to fire up this time:(), so I guess there's 2 of us, Gene:rolleyes:

You got that! That was one of the sweetest folders I have ever seen.

Yep. Its the only custom slippy I own, and man it is gorgeous. I was lucky to score one from Ray. Even luckier to have my wife pay for it!:D:thumbup:

Sweet haul, J! I've been meaning to pick up that book.

Get it bro. Its very well wrote, with lots of interesting stories, and insights. I am enjoying it very much. I love the style of the book, wrote from the accounts of several people who knew him. Very cool read.

A couple videos, new Breeden and a 20" barrel for the 870.

Need to add a few I guess. My wifes mom ordered me a Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 scope for the .22, a Mountain sling for same, a supercell recoil pad for the 870, 11 boxes of mil. overrun 00 and several boxes of various slugs to run through the 870. Nice of her to take an interest in her son-in-law like that. :D
