post your complete edc package

I'm told that Texas has state officials that go around performing Nutnfancy style gear checks. If you aren't carrying a gun, they write you a ticket on the spot. True story!

LOL

I moonlight as one such official. Ticket tripples if you're caught without a knife too.

Well here it is, pretty inexpensive (i dont got much money) and pretty minimalist. But it works for me. Wallet was 12$ from walmart watch was a gift from my gf for xmas.

Quality doesn't have to be super expensive. Pretty sure I paid less than that for my wallet, love the watch and the spydie. Tell your girlfriend to talk to my girlfriend plz.(need a new watch)

I have flashlights in my car and truck plus several at home and two in my toolbox but just never carried one, as to the phone I grew up before they were even out so basically I just do not like them.
The why? No war zone but close enough for central Florida, I have to go to Pine Hills a lot also known as Crime Hills the murder capital of orange county, already 10 guys shot this year thats since January 1st,
But the main reason I guess is that I never mean to be under armed..I could do with a little less but I,m comfortable with what I carry so I,ll stay with it. And I would have never taken your post as anti gun most people think I go overboard with my choices..

10 guys is a lot, comparatively, but I bet there's been at least triple the serious injures or deaths from car accidents in that same time frame...something where a cell phone could save your life(or that of the other party), but a gun wouldn't be much help. Just seems to me if you're worried about your life being in danger, a phone would be a better choice than 1 of those 4 weapons, even if it's just a pre-paid phone or a phone without an active account(since they still can call 911). I understand not liking phones, and there's nothing wrong with being prepared and carrying something(or somethings) for defense, but realistically, the odds of needing a gun are a LOT slimmer than the odds of needing a phone, even in the absolute highest crime neighborhoods in the country, so it seems to me, at least, that carrying a phone over one of those guns would be a safer choice in terms of overall security...and hey, if you do end up needing a weapon, you still got several at hand.

Also, nice to see some love for the Steyr M9, a lot of the shooters I know had never heard of it till I got mine.

Realistically, a self defense situation or "gunfight" will be over within the span of a single clip, so it seems pointless to carry backup guns. I just don't see you or most anyone else getting into a long, protracted gun battle where you will have a chance to use all those firearms.

I see the point you guy are making and I may try to cut down to the Real bear essentials,
It will be hard after 25 plus years of being over prepared, but I admit I was Wrong about not needing phone, so I,ve ordered a phone thats supposed to be made for people with hearing loss, And I,ll carry it even if I can,t hear very much, I can still call someone and tell whats happening.
To tell the truth I never thought of some of the things you need a phone for, all I saw them as,, was a distraction that a lot of people are on when they cause accidents.

Yeah, a lot of people do use their phone for all sorts of stuff that's non-essential, but sometimes, they can be real useful. You don't have to use it constantly, but it's really good to have, just in case. Nothing wrong with carrying the gun or guns and the knives as well, but the phone is one "emergency" item I'd always want to have handy. I mean, even for something minor, say if say, your car dies on the side of the road somewhere and there's not a phone nearby(or maybe it dies is an area you don't really want to go walking around in), you can call a tow truck or something. May not ever use it, just like you may never need the gun, but the possibility of needing it is too much to pass up, IMO.

Lol. Thanks. They would have to get together and do nails to talk about watches. I ended up getting the watch when we saw a seiko commercial and i was saying how i liked them and wanted one, it was like jewlry for a guy is how i put it. And this conversation went down like a month before xmas. On xmas i opened up a oddly shaped square box and this was inside :D If your wondering its the seiko 5 automatic model SNK805.

Oh yea i also carry a iphone 4s with a white lifeproof case too but thats what i used to take the pic.

I know the likelihood of needing one gun let alone several is remote but realistically so are allot of other things we keep around. Some examples I've not been in an auto accident in 20 years and drive most days but I still wear a seat belt. Chances of needing it are fairly good enough so that I do wear one but my own personal need is pretty low. I keep a fire extinguisher in the house and shop and I've only needed one once while on the road to try and put out a motorhome fire. I carry a gun and quite often two daily and I've only had one situation where I can say with certainty that my firearm helped and may have kept something worse from happening.

My only point is that we all make decisions based on our own lives and experience and I'll never knock someone for wanting to carry one or more firearms if it's a remote possibility to need one it's only a bit worse if you need 2;)

Take care!

Luke
