I’ve been intrigued by Elforyn for a while now. Does it pick up dye from blue jeans? I imagine that it will pick up dirty finger prints and the like. Is it easy to clean?
Good to know. I wear blue jeans in the cooler months when I’m not in uniform, warmer months I’m usually in khakis or twill. So I’ve always wondered, I guess I will need to consider taking the plunge sometime soon. DLT did just release a new set of them, but with other things coming up budget wise it will need to wait.I’ve carried it a fair amount, and the inlays show no detectable wear or aging (to my somewhat presbiopic vision), which is both good and bad, I guess.
However, I rarely wear denim, so I can’t comment on that specifically. I’ve read about micarta taking up denim dye, but that’s the extent of it.
If you don’t know the specifics of Elforyn, it’s micarta that’s laid down in a way that’s supposed to mimic the grain structure (and I guess texture) of ivory. The grain character and conspicuity varies by sample. The presence or absence of grain doesn’t really matter to me personally. I just think of it as smooth ivory (color) micarta, which I really like!
Without a doubt one of my favorite knives.Going to take the 25 and put it through a good work out, maybe a month? After seeing the love some of you members have been giving it lately I feel it’s only necessary! Haven’t given it much love since I got it. View attachment 2326147
