Post your CRK carry knife for today.

I've commented elsewhere that the small sebenza is a very different knife than then large, despite the near identical appearance in photos.
Very different. I really like the small 21 Insingo. It's a perfect little knife for those times the larger sibling would be inappropriate.

I don't own one, but as I recall, the small Regular had a more "hand filling" feel...but it's been many a year since I handled one.

yup, the only one id willingly pay a small premium for to secure even a gently used one. well it actually happened back in late july. ironically, i wouldnt pay the same for a small 31 insingo, not that i see many of em pop up. if that blade replacement service was quicker tho, id have sent in my 31 in a heartbeat

I really like the small 21 Insingo with the "Glorious" scale.

For the carry part of this thread, I had the Inkosi with me today.

For the other stuff...
For me, I like the zaan the least of these three, at least so far. This image illustrates why. Look how close the thumb lug is to the frame. On my zaan, I have a very difficult time getting my thumb in there far enough to lever the blade open. (I know; it will loosen with time.) I can kind of wedge my thumb in there to start it, but it's not exactly easy yet. There is just so much more space on the Inkosi and Sebenza that I can apply leverage much more easily. I'm not giving up on the zaan yet, but I also don't really expect it to be better even after extended usage which the others will also receive. So far, I think the Inkosi is my favorite of this group. It was easier/smoother out of the box, has the stouter blade, and groves for improved grip. I like it.

Tim, stick with the zaan. There will be an "aha" moment when the mystery of its recalcitrance is solved...but I agree, placement is more "particular" with it. Once you "get it" it will be much easier from that point on. I was ready to chuck it a couple times myself.

That's kind of what I was getting at with my 'wedge' reference. If I'm holding the handle and bring my thumb from the middle up along the handle towards the end, it will kind of wedge in between the handle and the lug to start the opening. I've found that the easiest method so far, but still not as easy as the Inkosi. I'll keep at it.

I would say to try instead of a north - south thumb orientation, try turning it slightly inbound and experiment a bit. You'll find that "sweet spot", probably by accident, and then you'll be able to refine it and let muscle memory take over. At least that's what I found after some frustration. Also, ditching the clip was the best thing I did. I hated the feel of the clip.

i would love to. in fact, i even dug out the ole filler tab i bought for my old small 21 tanto/insingo way back. however the titanium is a slightly different color? idk how they do their ti, but it drove my ocd nuts and i took it off the 31 small drop point ive been carrying as my non hospital daily driver

Yeah, I think my two filler tabs are slightly different shades. That said, when the tanto arrives next week, I'm taking off the clip and putting in the other tab I have, whether it matches perfectly or not.

To back that, I have had my Zaan around 2-3 weeks. Big struggle at first. I spent hours with it, opening it and closing it with two fingers when my thumb was irritated, figuring out my grip and now it is smooth as butter. More often than not I can pick it up and easily open it with no problem. The occasional times I struggle now, it’s just a quick grip adjustment and I’m there. I have and continue to adjust and get used to the grip, paying close attention to keeping my fingers off the lock bar, the thumb placement on the stud and the upward movement while consciously rubbing my thumb along the edge of the frame to get my thumb to the back edge of the stud. For me it was the combination of even the slightest finger pressure on the lock bar as well as the angle of the thumb and movement of the stud.
It does indeed have its own method and sweet spot.
It is “smooth”

This is actually the prescribed method that they used to include on a paper in the box. Now its just on their website.
