Post your CRK carry knife for today.

That looks great.

OK..cough it up, please...Who's the maker? I'm gonna need a couple.. I've spent substantial monies on clips in the last week. Wish I had seen these sooner.

PM if appropriate. Thanks in advance.

The maker?
That would be me.. There have been several other clips floating around..This one has existed in CAD for awhile, but was a little more motivated seeing all the other clips.
This is a prototype for now :)

Thanks for the reply..Looks great. Is that steel or Ti?

Compliments the Zaan well. And love the grip/textile you have on that..looks functional..nice work.

You sly dog you, I'm over hear anodizing and other silly things and you got clips...

Sorry for the disappointment..I would just like to put some time on it before I do anything with it.
It's titanium 6-2-4-2.. Machining wise, it's not really different than 6Al-4v.

I believe it fits everything that the large clip fits except the Inkosi. The texturing does help with grip..especially if you go without the lanyard.

Little comparison to the original;

Today, and most days.

Ha!
I have a DC powersupply that I have been meaning to put to use doing the anodizing...does that count?

If you don't have anything blue yet, it doesn't count!!!

Also, if at any point you get interested to design a clip for the Large Inkosi (It desperately needs one) let me know. I have some ideas and could do some drawings, but I no longer run CAD and I don't have a CNC so it's just me and photoshop. I don't care if you produce and sell a million of them, I just want 1...at least for now :P

Thanks for the comparison pic. No disappointment, quite the contrary..excited to see another style clip. Smart to test before changing the program.

I thought all the CRK clips were the same and fit all the models.

Seriously, nice work. Love to see how it develops and would for sure be interested if you get them to market.

What CAD did you use?
I haven't bothered with the Large Inkosi (this would fit the pj Inkosi) because of the inlays.
Always interested in how others think when it comes to design.. Email anything on over..It's always an interesting experience and may not be all that bad to make. This version was not bent, but made from solid 1/4in billet ti. The hard way to say the least.

My ex-father in law was a Surveyor so I've used a few versions of Autocad as well as Sketchup. I guess I could always download that again for anything serious, but I'll shoot something over tomorrow. You're will on facebook right?

Yes..appropriate considering my name..here and in real life.
I have a hard time with FB. Sometimes, I can tell who is who by pics..but that is about it.

I'll shoot you a PM :P pretty sure you'll know who I am

You better have the same avatar on FB that you do here..Cracks me up every time.

Do the medallions have hotspots during use? Something I have always wondered, but never asked. Great looking knife with alot of character!

Yes, the clip is from 1/4 stock and 3d machined (surfaced with a combination of ball endmills and flat endmills).

Machined what would be considered the presentation side in this pic.

Roughed profile here, but left most of it attached to the surrounding material.

Mounted to a fixture to remove the backside

I didn't get any pics of the finished backside on the fixture. I was getting inquiries about when I was going to be home..so, it was off the fixture and into the blast cabinet for a quick blast and a few pics on a surface plate.
They may be for sale in the future..I would like to test out the design for awhile and then come up with a little different procedure to make them.

are you taking orders? Can you send me a PM please about them if you don't mind

I got rained out of my remodel job today, so I got caught up on two flashing jobs downstairs in the sheet metal shop. I had an old work favorite with me part of the way.
