Hey guy's I'm in the market for a EDC folder and medium fixed in D2, however when I do a search I always pull up the USMC knives which im not interested in. I was hoping you all would humor me on what you have or recommend...

As far as temper I'll be cutting/hacking quite a bit of wood, cardboard maybe some bamboo and everyday things here and there. I really want the D2 UNLESS you have something just as cheap but performs equally as well. My budget is about $140ish if possible.

Here's a D2 fixed blade I've purchased recently from Canal Street Cutlery. The build quality is excellent and the knife is absolutely beautiful, much more than the scanned image shows.

It's well within your price range, and I would call it Medium Sized.

How big of a folder? Blade length min/max or handle min/max?

Does your $140ish budget include both knives or is that for one?

The Spyderco Para-Military is out in D2 right now, for a limited time. It falls well within your budget.

small: Kabar Dozier
big: AFCK (actually, a custom inspired by AFCK, but steel is very close to D2)

Benchmade 710D2 (awesome, big folder that carries like a much smaller knife)

Cabela's D2 Grip (Takes an already great folder and pushes it a notch higher)

Queen #3L Mountain Man Amber Stag Bone & D2 (D2 and the extra bonus of being just about the best looking D2 folder available)

Queen makes a couple of nice fixed blades in D2 that I've seen for less than $50.

The Nitrous Stryker with the D2 is an outstanding package. The 710 is great as well, but i recommend that in the M2 form.

These are my folders in D2. If you watch ebay or the exchange here you can get 1 of the full size D2 militarys for what you have to spend.

Wow, you guy's rock! As far as size "2brothers", the bigger the better lol. Price is for one so up to 200 a piece (edited from 140 a piece) I'm really "feeling" that Benchmade 710D2 and the Griptilian. I love the Spyder but I already have a Byrd and i like to get something different in looks, but man is it sexy looking. I suppose I'll see which is bigger and thicker and make my decision off of that as I am "bigger the better" type of guy.

Is there ANY comparison on who has the better temper (haha the knife) ?

BobW: I really dig that style. Ive yet to purchase anything in bone handle and as I get older I find it alot more attractive now. I'll take a good look at it and its size/price, thanks for the post Bob.

And thanks for all the post fellas, please if you have any more up to 200 a piece in price let me know, I'm feeling a bit more spendy after seeing these pictures.

Here are some of mine. A REKAT Sifu megafolder, a Benchmade 710D2, and 4 Queen "stag-bone" traditional knives---all made with D2 blades. Sorry for the bad pic---the Queens all have a near mirror finish.
