Post your HI Wish List

Bonecutter in 18" - Either a Sgt. Khadka one (though I'd be hard-pressed to afford one of those) or the upcoming ones that will more closely resemble the originals (top):

An original spec YCS would be first with a plain, non-chiruwa handle and white metal trim. Followed by a Bagh Bhairab, a Hanshee and probably a Samsher.

Not necessarily in this order and not like I think any of this will come true since many of them have been on order for more than a few months now. I have sort of given up on the whole idea of a special order ever coming in for myself at this time. Essentially this seems to be something only other people can make happen.

  • The remaining two Zoomorphs from Rajkumar (The Prince), Biralo & Garud to complete my modern set from him.
  • Giant Chitlangi Bowie
  • Falcata (neem handle with fullers like the last one we saw)
  • Bachero Axe
  • Kerambit-C pattern
  • Any of the "R" series knives I don't already have..., (I have 3, 4, 6 & 10)
  • Maybe a nice Indonesian Sword, but without the engraved dragon on the blade.

Now I'm worried, since Warty and I are both vying for a DOTD Garud. (How about I'll take it if it's a cracked or rusty user, and you take it if it's a wallhanger?):D

Well, here is the deal... mine HAS to be made by Rajkumar to make the cut. This is because I want to have a set of them, one of each Hanuman, Biralo & Garud of the newer and wilder look. If it looks like the old style and isn't all shiny eyed and wild looking to match my Hanuman 2010... well I have one of those already so I don't need another. In theory, mine is a special order so it won't be seen until I post pix of it. However, read what I said above my list and then you'll see my quandary.

Not that I can afford these right now. . .

I'd like a pair of Uddha swords with carved satisal handles.

A custom axe based on the Bancharo, but with a different head profile, that hopefully Yangdu will be willing to have them make.

One of the 18-20" Seax knives with a Dhar wood handle (fat chance, since they are supposedly out of Dhar).

A Tamang with a Dhar handle (Warty BARELY sharked that one before me).

I'd really like a katana and maybe a falcata. I'd also like one or more of the full size knives

M43 as close to original WW2-era ones as possible (lighter: 24-28oz range, smaller handles, two rivets, etc. etc.)
Above M43 with antler handle
18" Bonecutter as close as possible to the top one in Killa Concept's photo above
16"-18" Shamsher weighing in the 24-28oz range
The lovely Crescent Moon shape/Hanshee khukuris as shown in this sale post from some time ago (#6 & 7): http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=651406&highlight=khukuri

I would go with a model I saw recently, an HI reproduction of the Cold Steel bushman survival knife, but at the same time, assuming these are marked down knives, I would rather chop my right leg off then pass up the chance to hold an honest to goodness nepalese kukri, whatever is the best chopper that money can buy, as function, to me at least, is more beautiful than fashion will ever be. Peace.

An HI Kilij and an HI gladius.

^This one I saw custom made by a guy in TX and it is SWEET!^
As for the gladius, 24" blade, chiruwa handle with forged guard, all one piece. Weight would ideally be between 30-40oz. The specs on that kilij are total length of about 44 1/2 inches. I think it looks like a total zombie killer. I would also like to see HI put out a full convex version of this....

Again, from the same guy. I would love to see the kami's make this. Its around 3 lbs with an overall length of 19.5 inches. Maybe if they did a back hollow it could drop a few ounces. Also, If the blade is full convex, the weight should go down a bit since their would not be as much steel what with the flat body to the grind lines being all ground out.
Now...maybe in a few months we see the zombie smasher bowie or killer kilij on DOTD...Yangdu?:)?

Sean, that zombie killing stuff is awesome! I'm not a fan of swords in general, but seriously, that Kilij at 40 bloody inches is brilliant in its level of overkill. I'm wondering if it can even be feasibly shipped to Australia at that size, not sure if they'll accept it at USPS...

That DOES look pretty sweet!
I KNOW! Do want! I couldnt find any price for it on his site, but he said it was his first attempt at a sword, not bad sir, not bad.

I have his page bookmarked( http://knivesbyhand.com/Home_Page.html ). But yes, 44.5 inches of razor mayhem. I remember what the one handed kilij did to a pig on Deadliest warrior...now add over a foot in length...brutal. His bowie is bad ass too, it looks like the big brother of the AK Bowie. Just add a cho, more of a bowie-like tip and make it full convex or ang khola, and I think it would become a popular knife from HI.

I'm pretty sure this is a regular HI forum thread.

14-15" BDC
Tarwar
Tibetan Sword
...and get a 17-18" GRS again...
