Iowa Woodsman (Good guy..) made this for me in a trade recently. I like leather and the traditional styling of this pouch are pretty neat. I've been wearing it on hikes and around the property, you forget you are wearing it (the mark of a great pouch or sheath). Any of you guys use old school pouches or bags?

Very nice pouch, sir!

I made a small firekit belt pouch out of leather belly (it was the cheapest oak-tan I could find) based on a tutorial on another site. It fits a round altoids-type tin that will hold a small ferro rod from Going Gear, some dryer lint or PCBs, and a small bic if possible. I would post pictures, but I'm not sure how to do so.

Your pouch looks really nice and practical! I'll have to try one like that.

That's a dang nice rig you got there. I hope others will post more pics. Of course we could just go to Manussen's site for pics. LOL. He's got some great leatherwork pics.

I like the style an size. I've seen a couple that looked a little large to wear on the belt, but this one is really comfy. I have always like Ray Mears version (http://www.raymears.com/Bushcraft_Products/Leather_Goods/), but I like the one I got even better.

Me too:thumbup: Magnussen makes nice everything, IMO. Mountainfolk Mike and some other folks here make nice leather too!

You sure that wasn't Iowa Woodsman? I have one almost exactly like it that I got from him. Very well made.

Here is a small neck pouch I made recently:

IA Woodsman, I might have got the handle wrong there. Great looking leather you have there!

BTW, not trying to be a smartass with the correction. There is a member named Indiana Woodsman on BCUSA.

CricketDave just sent me a package with a bunch of leathermaking supplies, and I hit Tandy this week for some leather. Going to be making a bunch of possibles bags etc soonly, I'll be watching this forum with interest.

Snow - I got it from the gentleman on BCUSA (Terry). I should probably check his addie, it might give me a hint:D!

Savage - I like that rig, that's old school:thumbup:

Sweet, I've been meaning to build on of those. I have a few I've made in the past :)

This is the first one I made, probably 1986.

This is another old one made in the 80s, my primitive fire kit.

This one I made around 2003, an old design but a classic and very easy to carry.

Wildmanh - Heber Ellsworth is working on the removeable pouch/firesteel combo that will attach to the piggyback straps of my custom BK2 sheath. The pouch will hold an Altoids sized tin with a button flap closure. I will post pics when he is finished. This is a pic he sent me last night of it being wetmolded.

49" is a big rifle! My wife always says "That's big knife you're wearing", I say "It's a big forest"... Very cool set-up.

There are some nice bags posted I those fire kits and and fire steel pouches are special. For me, there is something special about natural materials like leather and wood....

Here is my current sheeple friendly setup with a possibles bag and my reconditioned spydie bushcraft. GF calls it my man purse.
