Well, I think Ive got my nessmuk design made. The blade is basically a tracing of my Kershaw JYD 2 blade, and a simple, yet comfortable handle. Im gonna try and make a template of cardboard tonight or tomorrow to see how it feels in hand. This is gonna be a neck knife/small belt knife. Now I have to decide grind- convex-saber or scandi.

Some real lookers her. I'm new to Nessies. Do y'all like the Condor? Seems a fair little blade. Is it thick and strong or thin for detail work? Take care and God bless.

This is one that Scott did for me, haven't handled it yet, but
am anxiously awaiting it's arrival!

Eh, probably fine, but some would advise against it.
Mainly, though, nessmuks are kitchen/skinning knives,
so a thinner blade is used on most of them.
It really comes down to steel, grind, and thickness.
The one I posted up is a 6in. blade in 3/16's O1, 11in OAL.
 
Seems to me the basic idea is that it is a blade with a good belly for skinning, thin to slice, is wide enough to eat off of, and the hump in the back allows for the strong spear point which is more or less centered with the pommel.

The Condor's a good little blade. Good ergos, good steel, and takes a very sharp edge. The blade looks to be about 1/8" thick to my Mark I Eyeball. It's stout enough to do some moderately heavy work, and still thin enough to slice well. Definitely worth every penny of the 25 or so dollars you pay for it.
 
Small Nessmuk style knife, the "Goffmuk". Made by a hungarian knifemaker, Csaba Nagy (Le Goff).

the blade is 89mm long, 29mm wide
blade thickness:5mm
handle lenght:119mm
steel is N690, 59 HRC. Finish is P800. Wood: santos palisander. Homemade mosaic pins.

Believe it or not, I made this one before I ever saw the BHK nessmuk. Great minds, I guess.
Blade is 3-3/8"
Steel is 1/8" thick 1084
Handle is dymondwood with nickel pins.
