Grimswine, I owe you an apology for making you feel unwelcome in this community of fellow knife nuts and Kool-Aid slurpers, and letting anyone think that your Hog status was un-deserved. I never wanted to make it personal, or about you, but of course, to you, how could it be anything but? None of us, and certainly not me, are fit to judge your Hoggishness, that honor is reserved for our good friends in Wauseon. Relatively speaking, I am barely past the FNG status myself, and when I was told by Amy just before Blade this year that I was to be inducted as a Hog, I was knocked out by that. It seemed to me then that I was not deserving, and since then, as others have said, I have tried to act worthy. To make you feel that I called you out was unworthy.

Please take your rightful place at the trough, where I can stomp you like a proper Hog. In the immortal words of Boss Hog....

No worries guys, I just wanted to put that out there in the open in case anyone was seriously holding that over me.

I don't want anyone thinking I was trying to pull a fast one, just a series of events leading me to the right place (here!) at the right time (last weekend!)

I just wanna be part of the community, thats all!

And for sure, soon as it's actually possible - I will be at Blade (hopefully) getting inducted the right way!

Grimspoon, you might understand that HOG status has clearly evolved over time. When some think of the early HOGs, they think of gargantuan hoards like those of papathud, Progunner, idahoskunk, etc. They also think of those who have spent hours putting in time on the Busse forums educating others about the Busse line-up and sharing in the passion for these knives. So certainly, there was some degree of surprise (I include myself here) when a relatively new guy came in, admitted to owning no INFI, and claimed HOG status. However, like I said in an earlier post in this thread, the category of HOG is changing, and IMO, it's changing for the better to be more inclusive. So, welcome aboard. I certainly don't begrudge you any HOG name or status. If Jerry points the cloven hoof at you, that's good enough for me.

The HOG status is fun, but for me, participation here is mainly about the friendships and the knives. Let's not lose sight of that.

I've got that INFI situation right under control. Steelwhore has the hookup, can't wait to see that FFBM!

That Dumpster Mutt was simply a gateway drug, you know how it is. Start with something small....work your way to the harder steel. Classic downward spiral of addiction and hopelessness...

I went the other way. SJTAC pointed me down the path of SR101 and then SR77. My last Busse-group purchase was a Chopweiler. Either way, it's hopeless...
