I've shown my face on these forums too often as it is and with a mug like mine, it's only sensible to cover it up - don't want to be scarin' off the womenfolk and all.

Maybe I just need to get a better hat. I've received some excellent pointers in this thread.

Those are indeed fish. Good eye.

Norm, It was pretty cold in Beijing in winter and I needed something to keep my ears warm. I picked it up from a hat store on Wang Fu Jin Avenue in Beijing. Red Flower Couldn't translate the name of the animal contributing the fur, but when we got back to her parent's place my father-in-law looked it up in a Chinese-English dictionary which translated it as martin. A US trapper friend of mine, looking at the same picture I've posted here and being told the price of the hat, opined that martin was more expensive than what I paid and that it was most probably muskrat. I don't know enough about furs to tell the difference. It does do an admirable job of keeping my ears warm, whatever it is.

Thats a muskrat hat,just like our mounties wear up here.I used to trap muskrats as a kid and skinned a couple of hundred of them,that was before Bardoe killed the industry.

BTW, there's no asking who's baby girl that is...she looks just like you but beautiful! ;)
