I enjoy filework on a knife, especially on folders. Here's some Bucks (my pixs stink) ... please post some pixs of what you have!

Here are few that I've made, Todd Davison.
The other knives posted here are really cool looking knives, my complements to those makers. Very nice file work guys. I like file work on my knives also.
Don't worry about your photos Clydetz ( my photos stink also )
Any other votes for FILE WORK ?
Thanks! TAD

Those are some stunning examples guys. Thanks for sharing.

I don't really own any knives with anything more intricate than simple 'thorn & vine' style file work so I won't bother posting those. I do however appreciate the artistry that goes into the above examples and would love to see some more.

Very nice... I never get tired of looking at filework! Your photos show up just fine, TAD! Approximately how much time is spent on adding filework to a knife like the ones you posted, TAD? And what determines the pattern you use?

I do not want to seem rude here, but I'm not going to give you a dirrect
answer. Because each knife is different in size and stile. I make every knife
one at a time, one of a kind. Were do I get my ideas? Who knows?
I've been putting file work on knives for about 25 years. So I am probably better and a little faster from when I started out. Thanks! for the looks.:)

I'm sorry I had to do that to you Physics. I tried telling you that I've
been putting file work on knives for 25 years. ''Your the one that taught me,
that a picture is worth a thousand words''.

I hope this made your day a little better.
Thanks! for the comments.

I've had this oldie in storage for a while. Since this was started I must have taken, ohhhhhh, about TWO THOUSAND images of backspines and filework so far. I do NOT have them all saved. But, I did save a bunch.

Most of this is not current work at all. No matter, much of filework is timeless.

Go for it... Filework images

Coop

BTW, Todd, you are to be commended. Great work, and LOTS of it!

Bigal2me...that filework is wonderful:thumbup: . I want to put it in my picture file and use as part of my screensaver if you don't mind? Preston

Preston, if you would like to use the photo as your screensaver.
You have my go a head on that.

Thanks! Clydetz, Coop, and Preston for the great comments.

Now we're talkin'! Awesome craftsmanship on those knives Coop and striper28... I'm lovin' it! :D

Here's a knife I made for Chris Carlson a while back that show a little vine filework. I wish I had've sent the knife to Coop and had him shoot some of his awesome pictures of it.:( Later, Dwayne
