Thanks for the condolences, all.

DallasSTB -- you've got incredible recall for details. Yes, the only thing left of #63 is the numbered slab. The rest of the knife, along with my Nozomi Taiko scale is lost. If I'm lucky, it didn't get lost in the woods, but will show up right where I placed it and promptly forgot. If I'm really lucky, someone that desparately needs it found it, and it's saving a life, or the like. For now, I'm EDCing one of a couple classics that previously never saw much pocket time.

I'm glad you think that way. I lost a Zaan when I had to leave Afghanistan in a hurry early this year. I really hope it ended up in the hands of some young soldier who couldn't have bought his own, and knows what he has and uses it like it's meant to be used.

I had a NIB Small Native American that I traded a few months ago to a fellow forumite for a plain jane Reg. I think he got the better of the deal, but we were both happy. I just can't warm up to the satin finish on the slabs--I much prefer the plain jane over the satin/graphics. However, it still pains me a little to have let it go--especially after seeing these pics from Mr. Rat!
 
Fooj, That's a bummer man. Beautiful knife. You have a great attitude though. You gotta feel good about that.
