Yup. It's genuine. CRK has authenticated it as a real CRK Small Regular Sebenza. I purchase it new from KnifeCenter and could not help but notice that the CRK logo was missing. So, I sent the knife to CRK. They were amazed and said that because of this knife, they added a step to their final check process.

I just picked up this small Regular Sebenza, B 98 scale marking only on the show side scale, BG42 blade. Also has “PAUL” engraved on lock side. Since I live in the Boise, Idaho area, it is nice to be able to take CRK knives to the showroom and get info on them. I talked to Ann today (she is always so happy to share information and nice to talk to) and she said this was around the same time they started to date mark the scales, so the unmarked lock side was probably left over from when they weren’t date marking them. She thought that they probably also engraved (long before they used a laser) the “PAUL” on the lock side scale. She said “If only these old knives could talk!”. Since my first name isn’t Paul, I guess it will just be the knife’s name. I love the natural use patina on it and it will be a EDC pocket knife.

Well, maybe someone else will grab the large when I list it later. Thanks, though.

Didn't mean that as a sleight towards you, I don't blame anyone for selling to the first buyer that comes along. I do hope the buyer of the large intends to enjoy and appreciate it rather than flip it for a profit though!
