Post your Schrade delrin classics! v. Old Timer, Schrade and Uncle Henry

First knife I used and abused as a teenager along with a replacement thoughtfully gifted by Duane.

Picked up a 960T with the tweezers and toothpick today. Never seen one before. Also a little 30T found its way into my pocket.

The 96OT is a great working knife tho it is a pocket full. Mine came with a nice leather sheath but I'm not sure they all did. I have been carrying mine some lately after several years of just letting it sit. I just love the brown Delrin.

Now that's one I haven't seen in a long time...the Old Timer 14OT Timberline...she's a beauty!
 
This thread brings back memories. Memories of finding a blue handled lock back in our driveway may dad cleaned up and carried for years, of an old Uncle Henry medium stockman I widdled on every stick I could find, and of a large lockback Old Timer hunter I carried everywhere I went until I traded it.

There are some really nice knives here, but for some reason the green always talks to me.:thumbup:
 
My collection is pretty darned small and insignificant but I am working on getting Codger to adopt me.


And of course a couple of beauties that have been around the block a few times.
 
I've read about how great Schrade's carbon steel is, but I've never had a chance to pick one up. A few weeks ago, I came across this little set of Open Stock, and have started to clean them up:

I didn't spend much, as they were in pretty sad condition.

The tip is a bit bent on the big clip, but I'm afraid I might break it off if I try to straighten it out. It'll be a good rough use knife, and give me a chance to see how tough these old guys are.

Nice set. Tough? I'm not sure how tough they are but if you want a tool made for cutting things those will last several lifetimes and will look great doing it.

When I say a tough knife, I mean for cutting stuff that's dirty and abrasive. Maybe a little scraping. Obviously someone used it for prying or digging. And apparently for applying glue. :eek: That's what screwdrivers are for. :D
 
Very nice set r8shell! I do believe they will serve you well. 1095 is hard to beat. And if one did not know, one would assume the covers to be jigged bone instead of Delrin.
