How did you achieve that patina?
 
Hello. I used one part pcb etch acid and three parts white cider vinegar. I use that solution to etch my damascus blades. As you can see, it did dull the finish of the stainless. I tried to remove the blade first but the small fastener just spun in the liners.

I am new to Spyderco knives. What is the knife in your very nice picture above?

I had a little time to try something else with the super blue dragonfly. I super fine scotchbrited the blade to close to its original look then went back with a qtip and applied the etch solution just to the superblue section. It looks much better that way. I will take a few pics when i clean up the edge. Now i am eyeing a stretch in super blue.

Nah. It is easy. The etchant is found at radio shack and the apple cider vinegar (heinz preffered) at any grocery store. The super blue etches in seconds and turns deep gray. A natural patina looks great on these knives from the photos i have seen.

She's pretty good...my record right now is stacking 7 of those treats vertically on her nose, though when that many treats are involved she won't wait more than about 30 seconds or so...ditto with a chunk of raw steak, or her absolute favourite (Corned beef)...I just thought it would be a funny picture.
