Nope. Just slide the positively threaded (? The male end ?) End of the barrel bolt between the two prongs of the wire clip (this is a squeak clip) and tighten it down in a position that the bend in the clip is against the cutout for the normal clip. The wire clip has to be bent to be tight, still needs a little more on mine.

This is my first spydie. Wanted something with the ball bearing lock, and got a Maxis 2 lightweight from GPKnives store in Troy,IL.

Here it is next to my edc mini barrage. These two will both be my edc now.
