Hey Charlie_K -- does that zip-tie mod really work as well as it looks? Just got a Matriarch 2 and I'm starting to get a feel for the emerson opener. A wicked mod for those Byrd knives!

Yes and no. With a liner lock it's really smooth, with a lockback it's more stiff. The Tenacious will deploy with a great deal of ease, and doesn't take much to get it open. The Cara2 is smoothing up, and I'm learning more of how to pull it from the pocket to make it work. With that one you have to pull a little more seriously to get it, but it's still new. The Meadowlark is still new, hasn't been broken in yet, and has less mass working in its favor, so it doesn't really snap open like it's big brother. Whether or not this will be resolves in the future will have to wait and be seen.
