Wow, I think that's the first time I've seen these two side by side. I've owned the sage 1 before but never the native. I have been thinking of trying out a native 5, but I think I might just re-buy a sage 1. I find I like to flick my knives open/closed so the sage would be the better choice for me.. or am I missing something? Does the native have anything much different than the sage? I know a lot of people on here love the native.

The Native 5 is easy to flick open and closed IMO, but probably not quite like the Sage 1 is. I think I still prefer the Native 5 because it's a tad smaller and fits in my pocket better. That little bit of extra width the Sage 1 has makes it more difficult to get my hand in my pant pocket. I also prefer S35VN to S30V. That being said, I'm really liking the Sage 1!
