My guess is that its a batch number, not sure 100%.

Marc

crazy... first time I've seen that. I always thought it was a good idea to scribe the date mark on the tang, but so far all of the tang's from busse I've seen have been without identifying mark.

no one mentioned it in the link you posted, so here it is - what the heck is the L14 scribed on the tang?!?:confused::confused:

did it come like that? are the newer blades getting tang inscriptions now?

There have been discussions in the past about how the knives are marked in such a way as to make them clearly Busse, even if the blades themselves are blank. Ban has mentioned this recently.

This is Craftt's Mud Razor:

i need to pay more attention to the boards then :o

a date stamp would (have) certain make the older busse's easier to identify as far as production era/time period

From the Busse family knives I have worked on... I think it's to do with matching scales to blades as the scales have the same number engraved on them.

I may be wrong though. :D

What's a more appropriate day to update my stripper photos?

I call my un-named over run knife the Bandaid because my attempt at a satin finish screwed it up pretty bad, then Ban fixed it up for me. The latest mod was the addition of Magnum Sage scales swapped off of a Sage Hell Razor from the latest batch.

I like it a lot but Ban wants to take off the handle again for a before Blade touch up.

That bead blast SNFO looks great.

But... the Banned CGFBM is astounding....

I would be hand sanding for a looong time if I'd had to remove CBT's. :D

Cheers.
