I don't know if any of you can assist with information on international Postal Protocols.

First my bitch. African mail is loosely laid back. I am waiting 6 weeks for a parcel to travel 200km in South Africa. I would have it posted to my Botswana address but for the fact that Botswana is no longer able to mail blades.

I have been working towards setting up my own blade making and battled to get the steel, abrasives and equipment in Botswana. In short I have had to drive 400km to Gauteng, in South Africa to get it.

600km to get heat treatment done.

Now I found that whereas a year back I could send and receive knives easily I am now no longer able to. I can simply and legally put it in my car and drive across the border and post from South Africa but there is a huge import tax on it in South Africa when receiving.

Fumigation and Certification for the sheath (tanned leather from export stock) is $20 and the same for a Warthog handle. Alternatively set up a protocol specific to my company.

They want new ventures and jobs but have a indolent postal service.

Does anyone know what this protocol is?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I gotta start some where.
