Posted for Uncle Bill and Foxjaw. Beautiful Pic!!!!

Sheesh is right. Friend YVSA you certainly didn't ruffle my feathers, I wuz just telling you what I knew and you didn't plus I don't have enough feathers to ruffle anyway. The only way to get a knife equal to that beauty is to send Uncle back to hills of Nepal and have him drive the kamis nuts.

I also don't think you need to apologize for posting Foxjaw's work. It is well done and shows potential, but one has to be considerate of source material and content. I should know since I do this for a living. I am a creative director who has been doing ads and TV commercials for over 25 years.

Nice work Fox...

From a fellow computer graphics guy... nicely done :D.

Maybe I should spend time working on stuff like that instead of trying to track down female ghurkas  ... it might be more productive work.

If I took a model to Nepal and stayed in the shop while Bura or Sanu was working on the project we could come up with a khukuri that could double for John's. The kamis of BirGorkha are just as good or better than the kamis of 150 years ago -- and have better tools. Of course, forget the ivory.

Uncle,

Are there any good local 19th century khukuries that can be barrowed for a few weeks to show the Kami. Perhaps the local museam/collector would lend you one for a few days provided there was a bond or security deposit. The genuine artifact would be much more informative than a wooden model. As for the ivory (I wonder if ivory Micarta would work); That could always be produced and applied stateside.

I'm working on a new poster based on the other one. I dont think it will be as good as the the other though. I just need more pics to work with. I'm running it past Uncle Bill first to MAKE SURE ITS HI STUFF ! Hopefully it will be all right.

Beautiful work Foxjaw. The rice paper background and the fonts evoke the atmosphere of Nepal.

A concerned contributor to the FAQ brought this thread to my attention. Please note that the FAQ is protected by copyright, and pictures should not be used without permission. Collectors and other contributors will be much less willing to contribute if they think that their pictures may be used without permission. If that happens, we all lose out on getting to see these remarkable knives.

I ask the assistance of all the forumites in bringing inappropriate uses of copyrighted images from the FAQ to the attention of the individual using them.

Thanks, and no hard feelings.

Namaste.

I think everything is under control and no real harm's been done as far as I can tell. The pix just round robined from here to FAQ and back here again. Foxy needs some good pix of HI khukuris to play with. When I get time I'll email him a couple that I've had luck when shooting them.

...foxjaw

Excellent work with the graphics! Makes one want to check out the HI website and BUY a Khukuri. I can think of no better compliment for an advertisement :) Very much looking forward to version II.

I really appreciate all the encouragement on the Khuk poster. Uncles got some good pics he's going to send to me to use in the new version. If any body has any good pics that they dont mind us using please email em to me. We will use them to further the cause of the KAmi! :)

I've just sent pix via DSL that are taking 6 minutes. That should hold you for awhile, Foxy. AC also has some very good pix he might be willing to send you.

Fox,

You have my permission to use the photos I took of Ashley and my YCS to play with. I'm going to do the same (as soon as I clear off my plate a little), but heck, the more ads the merrier :D.

Since you are just going to use them for the web, download them off of the forum (I don't know the specific link though). If you need a high res version, e-mail me and I'll send them out.

BTW... what font was it you used... it looks familiar (I think I have it somewhere) but I don't recall the name.

*Drools* :D That IS Sweeet!! I like how the colors flow well and that both Khuks are offered by H.I. Good work!!! :):D:)

Wow ! Glad so many like the updated poster :D I'll be interested to see where Uncle decides to use it. I was thinking for the next graphics project maybe we could get somebody to take a picure of a really good looking Nepalese girl looking foxy and holding a Khukri That ought to get people to buy :)

Well done. The transparency of the kukri almost gives it a mystical quality.

That's because it's 10,000 years old and was made in the clouds.

Yes, that's the spotted deer antler.

I wish I could do stuff like that. Foxy is pretty good.

Now where to put this ad?
