I was thinking of doing that with my DAMSkyline but thought better of it for fear of making the grips too slick. I'm giving it second thoughts now.

Are they scales as slick as the ones of the Shallot are do they still have a little grip?

G-10 when polished still has a natural grip to it. Go for it.
