posting pictures

how to post
I've tried - I have mine in yahoo photos - i copied the url but got nowhere except a big red x

this is better than nothing but I did see people actually pasting a photo next to the message

Very frustrating. I was hoping someone who regularly posts pictures would join in. I tried a couple of times, but your link doesn't end in one of the approved extensions, like .jpg, so I'm not getting it to work. :(

If it doesn't end in .jpg you MAKE it end in .jpg :D

Seriously though (and much more verbosely) here's an explanation:
I believe the software at Yahoo determines how you are trying to view the picture - via a property call HTTP_REFERER.

If you directly click on the link, then Yahoo sees the HTTP_REFERER as nothing because it opens in a new window i.e. you can see the picture.

If Bladeforums embeds the picture then Yahoo sees the HTTP_REFERER as Bladeforums and assumes that someone is mooching on their bandwidth thus rendering the image inoperable. Some less serious companies replace all mooched images with obscene ones, so we're lucky to be just seeing a red X. :D
