Hey regarding those Tommy handles, do they have to be imported from the states? And if so, do they need to get treated when they pass through customs? Oh and just one other thing, are you getting your stuff straight from Kabar or another source here in Aus? The Kabar site still says they're not posting outside of the states that's all..

Anyway, sorry for the thread drift brother. Congrats on all the new CroVan! You've got to really out do yourself when its her birthday ("she's really going to be surprised now when she gets that ironing board cover..")

Firstly thanks lads for the kind words and great proverb salty!

Hey Springy, thanks mate for the kind words. Most of my steel is purchased from cutting edge knives in Brisbane. Great service at good prices (for Aus anyway).

The scales from tommy just come in as any other international small packet. Usually only a 10 day wait. But well worth the wait. The AUS dollar is low at the moment so it will cost a bit more for a set. Definately no dramas ordering those. Actually have another set being delivered this week for the knecker. Oh and tracking is included so you can keep an eye on them.
 
Cool, yeah that's where I get mine from. Mikes a good bloke. Sometimes takes a while but he's basically doing it by himself from what I understand. Still waiting on a few blades myself but I know he'll get there..

Thats pretty cool about the scales too. Would definitely have thought being made of a foreign wood they would need to be treated. Hmmm. Interesting. I think it's time I made a few upgrades.

Hey make sure you tell your lovely wife how cool we all think she is. She'd probs get a kick out of it... and perhaps sling a few knives our way :p:D:p:D:p:D

Happy birthday Gassy! I'm a little late! Your one blessed fella! I got a pretty good one too, she always gets me a blade from my wish list but never a bundle like that! Congrats on completing your set. What's next, back ups or upgrades? Or are you moving on to another line or other Ka-Bars?

Thanks brother, well definately sticking with the Beckers, waiting for Auncle E to get creative and design more. But for now upgrading handles (i love timber and leather sheaths) and actually getting out and using them more. It has been difficult of late with work committments, but thats the plan anyways..

Thank you sir, I have no problem spending my hard earned coin on quality engineered tools.

Now we need to get you to working on new designs, I've got a fist full of dollars and a yard full of timber.
