Potassium permanganate

...told me I needed to go where they sold fish supplies! I guess you call that "clueless in Ace"! :D

Why are you making fun of her for giving you the right info?

In general I agree with you about the level of knowledge in the big box hardware stores.
PP is an oxidizer and can be make to go boom, same as Nitre salts...and that makes it a lot harder for me to find anything here anymore.

The article also lists
To remove stains caused by potassium permananate, remove with a solution of Sodium metabisulfite/Sodium metabisulphite. This is a food preservative called E223 that can be found at a grocery or Home brewing Beer shop.

...and yes this is a response to an old post

Another response to an even older thread...

Whatever you do keep Potassium Permanganate in a place where it CANNOT come into contact with Glycerine/Glycerol.

Well I got a better question where are you ordering Pottasium Pergamate from? Two places I use to get it from are not carrying it anymore. Probably something to do with the EPA or Green Planet crap I am sure but there is another side to this stuff for the responsible person using chemicals.

you can get it at any water softener /filter place, its user to recharge manganese green sand filters for those of us on wells that have high tannins.
