potassium permanganate?

hey! great to see this thread going strong again! yeah i got it on ebay a long time ago now. good for antiquing blades too....
 
This one was completely white before I used Permanganate on it, this handle is Red Deer crown. where to get Permanganate, ? Sears, in the water softener dept.
