Pouch sheath for the CABS?

Here is one for my Boss street I stitched up the other day. Deep pouch sheath, with H strap set up (rough side out, which may not have been the most aesthetically pleasing after I bees waxed then atom waxed it). I need to make up a hot bees wax/oil mix to get a nice yellow tanish color. I like natural leather, but the leather from Tandy has a particular color, and I don't really want to die it. Just make it mellow golden/yellowish.

One old time trick is to coat it well with Pure Neatsfoot Oil, let it soak in and even out, then set it in the sun. This will effectively "sun tan" the leather. Watch it carefully as I once turned some a nice deep brown, we have a rather intense sun around here. Also, turning the sheath is important if you dont want a "farmer tan" :p

Dwayne, that one is really nice. I hope that you're going to offer it.

Whoops, I didnt see your post before I hit submit. :o

Thank you! And yes, I will have it up one way or the other, might have to make it a tad smaller to hold the knife. I think my loaner is supposed to be on the way today, I'll keep y'all updated. :)

Well folks, I just got word that the loaner I was promised for over a week isn't coming after all, he's decided to sell it instead. How's that for a kick in the teeth? :(

you're welcome to use mine, it is the large choil version.

i can get it out saturday, let me know.

Thanks for the tip on neatsfoot oil. I have som I had been using. I went to tandy to buy some more Bees wax and neatsfoot oil to try and make a "hot dip" but ended up leaving with beeswax cream and atom wax liquid.

I will have to try the "suntan" if the sun ever shines arround here again!

I like this one (who made it?).

Small, slim, and simple. Vert and Horiz mounts would be sweet.

^^ That's a Ray Laconico sheath. Simple, totally functional design. I really like it .

Any other options in a pouch sheath?

Dwayne, have you secured a CABS yet?
Yes! Just got it in a couple of days ago, haven't had the chance to play yet. The SAR 6 sheaths took up all my time.

I will be working on it next week and have some ready to go then. :) There will be an official thread on it, I hope. If my craftsman upgrade goes into effect by then. :o Yea, I'm slow to the parade.

Are you getting your own Forum?

Not sure on the forum thing yet, I was to the understanding that I needed to pay for three years in advance to get one, that might be different now.

If it is three years I am planning on doing such this spring when orders pick up again. :) Stay tuned!

Count me in for one of your deep pouch sheaths if you decide to go that route.
