ok guys i got a buddy with a motor, here are the specs
it is single phase, 2hp, 12 amp, 230 volt, and 3450 rpm.

think thats good enough to run a bradley 40lb power hammer?
thanks in advance guys i appreciate the help:thumbup:

That seems too fast, but I suppose you could gear it down. That can be a real pain, though.
Regarding power, I have no idea. It would be strong enough for a little giant, but a beam hammer?

Hopefully someone can chime in here who has some experience setting one of these up. I'd be surprised if there are more than a handful of guys in the country that really know their way around this hammer. I suspect before long you'll be one of 'em.

Yep, too fast, 1725 rpm with a small pully is what you want. I would think a two or three HP motor would run your hammer fine.

My 25# LG has a 1-hp, 1725 rpm and my 100# LG has a 5-hp, 1725 rpm. I have the smallest pully for shaft size of the motor and both hammers run faster than with the original motors.
